Edwards Elementary students participated in the “Pennies for Patients” coin drive to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This group is dedicated to funding blood cancer research, providing education, and patient services. From January 17-27, 2016, the students donated $4617.99 to this wonderful cause. This is the eighth year the school has taken part and the total donations to date come to an amazing $33,478.95! One of our fifth grade students, Finley Stevens (pictured front row, left) is an honored hero. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Burkitt’s Leukemia in April 2009, and is now considered cured. We thank all in our community who have helped us to make a difference in our world!
